With the Japanese support being pretty consistant in recent years, wonder could they drag Blue Impulse over?

Hate to burst your bubble but the Angels are performing at Duluth on the 15th & 16th.

It’s a shame, as they’d be a star performer at any UK show! Wonder why they’re so evasive? Costs? And logistics? Last European appearance was 2006! Long long overdue (well same could be said for a B-1 taking off).

Suppose i’ll have to venture over to see them in their habitat!
Wasn't much of a tour either if i remember rightly either. Real shame considering how much the Red's have toured there.

The Blue Angels exist primarily for recruitment purposes so very rarely appear outside of the US. Their display is not UK display regs compliant either and would be significantly neutered.

Next year for me, I’d like to see a gathering of the remaining F-16AM/BM operators in Europe - they’re becoming a very rare bird and deserve a send off fitting of the types service defending European skies. We already lost one operator this year and the Netherlands aren’t far behind.

Joining them I’d like to see a Tornado gathering - including Saudi examples.

On the modern front, the Raptor demo team would be welcome as would Rafale. Perhaps a test pilot demo from a Gripen E too.

New nation side? It would be nice to see an African nation join us.

As 2023 represents 100 years since the foundation of the nation of Turkey, a celebration with SoloTurk and the Turkish Stars would be great

I'm not sure that is fantasy - a USMC MV-22B Osprey is entirely possible! :innocent:

100 years of the Italian Air Force as well. But maybe that means they will do more at home?

Hopefully a bit of both, you'd like to think that they would both want a local celebration but also take the chance on the international stage too

Top of my list is basically any old Russian types, as I'm guessing it is for everybody.

Polish Su-22 & MiG-29.

Any "last chance" types that we already know are likely to be gone between RIAT 2023 & 2024 yet?

A Hawk 200 from Oman would make a change from the normal twin-stick Hawks we see in this country.

Not sure what the name of them is, but there is a Belgium Air Force F16 demo that consists of 4 F16s. That would be amazing.

Spanish Harriers
Turkish Stars/Solo Turk
A10
F22
Austrian Herc/Typhoon x2 QRA Demo (Yes, I want to see that again)

Something that is going out of service soon like a Mig 29/SU22 or Mig 21.

Not as many prop teams please, as much as I enjoyed them, some got lost in the skies.

The only thing I've ever heard about that could fit with your description is an item that is just put up for either the airshow of the Belgian Air Component or Sanicole. Not a real team that does all the airshows.

I was going to say Algerian MiG-25 was top of my wish list - but it seems they have been retired this month.
So, instead, from the country that has sent its Hercules RIAT before, I would love to see Algeria bring an Il-76 over, with an Mi-28 and Ka-27 in its belly (I suspect their Mi-26 are just a tad too big to fit inside  ).
However, an Il-78 with Su-24 and Su-30 in tow would be more than welcome.

Will be nice to see some French jet power this time round, the Mirage is my wish. They've brought the demos over during Bastille day celebrations before, so i don't see why they can't again. Some more American stuff in the air. Hopefully one of their fast jet demos, along with a heavy of some sort if we're lucky. Just to be ridiculous, please Poland, bring that Mig-29 one last time!

Will be nice to see the Armys Apache back on the flying display, after its upgrades. I have also missed the all so regular A400m display this time round, would like that to return.

Would like to see India and Egypt appear next year, their potential participation via the traffic light system got me excited as to what they could have brought.

Spanish Navy, you know you want to do come again with them beautiful Harriers.
Fast jet fanatic.

It would just be nice next year to be living in a peaceful would and our Ukranian friends can safely bring anything.
Would love to see more Hercs, C-5, more C-17's mabe Australian and Qatari? More naval aircraft too which are ever diminishing. RAF F-35 demo please.
Thinking out of the box, how about some role demos? 6 C-130 static line paradrop with a full load followed by 4 Chinooks with underslug loads and pyros. Bring back the old AAR demonstration with Voyager and a couple of Typhoons.

Next year brings a few anniversaries of first flights - marking any of these would be great to see (some perhaps more likely than others :grinning: - It is a Wishlist after all!)
Saab 29 Tunnan (75 Years)
Saab 105/Sk60 (60 Years) - Perhaps second time lucky with the Swedes?
Transall C-160 (60 Years) - Will the French still be flying any of these come next July or would it be just the Turks left flying these?
Tupolev Tu-134 (60 Years)
Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet (50 Years)
IAI Kfir (50 Years)
Kamov Ka-27 (50 Years)
CASA CN-235 (40 Years) - Will next year be our last chance to see one in Irish service?
Ilyushin Il-78 (40 Years)
Agusta A129 (40 Years)
Antonov An-74 (40 Years)
Chengdu J-10 (25 Years)
Beriev Be-200 (25 Years)
CAC JF-17 (20 Years)

Also notable is that 2023 marks 75 Years of Jet Transport aircraft (Vickers Nene Viking), 70 Years of Manned Mach 2 Flight (Douglas D-558-2 Skyrocket), 50 Years of Electric Flight (Brditschka MB-E1 Motor Glider) and the centenary of aerial refuelling (US Army Air Service with the DH-4B).

You missed one 20th anniversary which (Pete mate if you're reading) would be an epic visitor on static or flying from a nation that has attended a few times now....

2023 brings a few Air Tattoo-centric 50th Anniversaries that gives an excuse for some more Wishlist material.

50 Years of P-3 Orion appearances at the show (US Navy P-3A appearing in 1973) - a gathering of a couple of this type 50 years on would be good to see - these are slowly fading away as the P-8 comes in. Perhaps an EP-3 as an extra rare example nowadays, alongside other Orions which may well be making final appearances from other nations.

The AH-1 Cobra appeared for the first time at an Air Tattoo in 1973 (alongside the debuts of CH-47, UH-1 and OH-6 - all from the US Army) - any AH-1 on display (perhaps flying in inside a Hercules) would be quite something - when was the last time one appeared at a UK show? Maybe, a debut appearance from the Czech AH-1Z and UH-1Y - or will that have to wait another year?

2023 also sees 50 Years of German aircraft participation at Air Tattoos - a nation that has been a very strong supporter of Air Tattoos over the years (it was great to see the CH-53 back this year) - it would be nice to see one of their new Hercules from the Air Force, the Navy's Sea Kings must be into their twilight hours, whilst a Eurocopter Tiger from the Army would be a different gunship platform to those we usually see in the UK.

The French navy first appeared at an Air Tattoo in 1973 bringing over a Crusader and Etendard IVP. Perhaps we could see the Atlantique or Hawkeye in the flying display - the French Navy E-2C making its first appearance at an Air Tattoo 20 years earlier in 2003.

Canada participated for the first time, brining CF-104 Starfighters, in 1973 - anything from them would be great to see - they operate such a mixed bag of types.

Sounds dangerous, the rotor blades would surely hit the inside of the fuselage?
