Superb start. Super looking helicopters, rare type and operator to these shores. What’s not to like?

Caught one on the back of a Danish frigate in Reykjavik back in November. To say I was excited was an understatement, the other half didn’t necessarily share in my enthusiasm though.

A year off Yeovilton for me, but that's a cracking start.

They'll be alright when they get a roundel on them instead of a sticker off a satsuma. :cuppa:

Slight thread drift but who wins Satsuma Sticker Insignia; the Danes or the Spanish Navy?

At least they are full colour though? Idk.

Gosh, satsuma stickers or dull low viz; it’s like a choice whether to fart melons or burp bowling balls.

When was it ever a competition between Yeovilton and RIAT?

I'd love to hear your reasons?

This just sums it up for some people on this forum...

Because Yeovilton have now announced 3 items of interest to me, and presumably to other enthusiasts, whilst RIAT have announced....some new enclosures, parking plans and grass length.

They’re similar events over consecutive weekends. They’re competing for people’s money via ticket sales, which is driven by the publicity/announcements.

It’s more a totting up of how some shows are getting their PR so right, whilst others, quite simply, aren’t.

Well that's just insane. Brilliant work, especially with the very rare CSAR demo

Hind debut for the show. And bear in mind that the Biggin Hill appearance of the CSAR demo only in 2017 was literally the first time an in-service Hip had flown at a UK airshow.

If the Air Day team are reading this, please understand how much I want - need - to see a formation of the Hind, Hip and a couple of based Merlins. It'd be unreal.

Has to be said, Yeovilton have gone completely tonto with their early participation announcements.

Unbelievably good.
