Not unless the RAF have rehearsed it, and it's been signed off in triplicate. And even then they'd only be allowed to roughly be in the same hemisphere.

The Typhoon really has no place at a venue like Old Warden - a show I am not too upset to be missing now that the Spitfire has cancelled.

The WW1 team has no place at a venue like RAF Fairford, but they are there as its for RAF 100, why is the Typhoon at Old Warden, because of RAF 100.

I would agree if this was the Edwardian Pageant.

Did that apply to the Harriers that displayed from the grass at OW? Or a Hunter, Sea Vixen, Gnat or Jet Provost, or is there a cut off in time? Maybe foreigners like the Sabre should be banned. Perhaps La Ferte Alais should stop the Air Force, Navy and Army displaying their current types and ban airliners for being too big!

It's an RAF centenary event - there is plenty of reason to be there.

Looking good, perhaps a straw boater and a luxury picnic hamper and you're all set!

Is your personal hatred of the RAF Typhoon display team surfacing again? The show is billed as am RAF 100th anniversary event and showcases aircraft from the present day RAF right back until it's inception.

The surge in ticket sales since it has been announced suggests it more than has a place at OW, it's certainly persuaded me to attend.

Though to be fair that surge consists of 90% of the greater population of central Lincolnshire....

It's an RAF100 celebration at arguably the only airfield/collection that with a few operators and the RAFs support can truly provide a full 100 years of history of the air arm.

In that situation it is more than appropriate for the Typhoon to appear at Shuttleworth and I look forward to the display along with everything else set to appear, there is no need for location snobbery of any kind when it comes to participants.

I can't comment on the type of people it attracts however but frankly, I don't care. I'm there for the airshow not whether the person behind me is wearing a vest and tracksuit bottoms or a tweed jacket.

Like Boff, I really don't care whether people think it belongs there or not. It's the RAF 100, so having a current RAF fighter there is applicable.

Here's hoping for a LOW pass ala the Catalina from last year!

Hear hear! It's just unfortunate that Capercaillie isn't coming as with the good weather he would have turned up in his leather shorts and studded vest ensemble....

Well I’ll be there as it Old Warden plus good weather and I need to get my panning muscles warmed up for the season  Even if 501 isn’t flying it would be nice if she’s out for pictures.

A recent tweet states that this event will likely be sold out in the next few hours and that tickets will not be available on the gate.

Surely a sell out is the ideal scenario for Shuttleworth, that all of us should applaud?

The more tickets they sell, the more money they have to maintain their exhibits - either in a flying condition or static exhibit.

Besides, it the Typhoon and Lanc are on at the time suggested in a earlier post, I would imagine a fair few will leave well before the end of the show!!

Nice to see Old Warden selling out. Bit of a balls for us overseas waiting for the Weather to be confirmed.

Takes lot of cash to spend and then to turn up and find the gates closed due to Weather. Been there done that.

enjoy the show lads.
Cheers
