I use a 70-300. It's enough for the runway and most passes, but the extra reach will open up more options for you.
i'll just stick with the 150-600 then. if i've got it i may as well use it
Agree with LN Strike Eagle. I used to own a 150-600 and you'll most likely find that most of your shots will be taken between approx 200-350mm but the extra focal length will give you more options for some close ups etc
These shots are some of mine taken at Old Warden with a 7D Mkii & Sigma 150-600 and the focal lengths are stated in the pics info. Pics have been cropped a little but not majorly. Just to give you an idea
thanks. ill probably go with my standard set up then, 150-600 for flight, second body with 18-200 for everything else. looking forward to it

You'll love it!!! It's so much more relaxed than a 'normal' show such as RIAT, Duxford etc.
My first visit to Old Warden was for their first 'Fly Navy' show back in June 2016 and I'll openly admit that I only went then because the Sea Vixen was due to display and I'd never seen her display before. Needless to say I've been back at least twice a year every year since

Same old sh*t.............just happening on a different day!!!

Sounds like me - went to watch the Red Arrows in 2015 (I think it was), and been a couple of times every year since. Such a brilliant place.

Expected, LF363 has been U/S recently, PZ865 will most likely do some flypasts en-route back to Coningsby, while the other 6 will most likely fly together in a different slot on the day.
The Royal Jordanian Falcons were practising at around 1230 today; in addition, the Duxford Lysander looked to be in the area, flying on the east side of Biggleswade towards Duxford at 13:00ish - not sure if it had been to Old Warden....
Really like to go to this one. Was hoping to see the P-47D there last year, but a family 'naming' on the same day put paid to that. However current weather forecast doesn't look too good for Sunday.

Most forecasts are suggesting an overcast day with the cloud spreading down from the north over the weekend. Maybe one or two glimmers, but its a bit disappointing considering the weather today.
Agreed. I might just wait on a ticket until the last minute - happy enough to do both days at Headcorn if needs be, as the tickets are so cheap, plus there seems to be more chance of hanging onto some sunlight the further south you are.
Shame one of these shows wasn't held last weekend though, when the weather was perfect and there was nowhere to go.
Hurricanes are on "late in the show" with the Headcorn ones coming up from there after displaying. They're on at 12.45 so could be a nice 4 ship (5 if the BBMF example stays with them) arrival around 1.30ish??
