To be absolutely honest the prospect of seeing the Red Arrows over Old Warden does put me off attending.

Agreed. Guess that’s one OW show I won’t be bothering with this year.

You may not be Red Arrows fans although that still leaves over 3.5 hours of the more traditional stuff associated with Shuttleworth. Seems a bit extreme to boycott on account of one segment of the display. Admittedly it could well sell out so be busier than usual although that's surely a good thing - more money taken = more money available to keep the vintage aircraft flying. In comparison to Cosford and Yeovilton (the only experience I can call upon really) a sell out at Shuttleworth is still a lot less packed.

I discovered Shuttleworth in 2016 and what drew me there was the Red Arrows. I discovered what a gem of a place it was, and what a treasure trove of aircraft there is there, which has really sparked my enthusiasm for vintage aviation.

That said, 2nd June is also arrivals day at Duxford for the Dakotas so I need to make a choice between the two.....

If it helps pay for visiting acts like seven Hurricanes (!), the P-47 and the raft of racers in October, I'm all for it.

Shame I'll be missing this one, the Argus pair and Stinson are a draw for me, and the Blenheim's always great value at OW.

Looking at that list (apologies if I've missed something) does "PO SE5" refer to C1096, currently resident, so possibly an SE5 pair??...

I'm guessing it refers to Private Operator, so presumably the new resident (I guess that's C1096?)

That's what I thought and I hadn't really picked up on that. 2 Se5s (OK one being a modern but very good replica) isn't something to turn your nose up at..

I think The Collection's SE5a is undergoing maintenance and will not be ready by early June.

Given the (relative) proximity of Duxford to Old Warden I had wondered if there was the chance of a flypast from one or more of the Daks participants?

I wouldn't worry Shuttleworth usually update with a bout 1.5-1 week to go it's fairly usually for them.

I don't normally turn up until then! Never had any problems getting in, though have had to park quite a distance some days. It'll probably be very busy though with the Reds though, but oddly they're not saying it's going to be a sell out and it's only a week away.

I've arrived at 1402 before without any problems, but as per 5944's post, the Reds' inclusion will likely mean a sell out, or close to.

Good looking list. Particularly looking forward to the Blenheim, racing quartet, MS.315, Stinson, Cubmania and Argus. If that's a flying RN Merlin, it should be tremendous.
