Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
The Belgian F16 scheme reminds me of an Italian F16 scheme that was seen years back!
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Exactly what I was thinking. Italian F-16 from Waddington 2010
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Don’t know if this has been shared yet, as links don’t display on my phone:
Looks meh. Will have to wait to see it in person.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Firstly, thanks to all the guys who answered my previous question about why planes cant just display without it being part of a demo team. I always thought any active jet could at least take off, do a few flypasts , and land !
May I just ask, that on the RIAT website it says "We are unable to offer a display slot over the weekend to the Spitfire, as we are oversubscribed with military participation and are struggling to fit it all in the 8 hour flying display programme! " ...
Does that mean that all the military aircraft have been announced already ? I hope not, as I keep wishing for the F35B USAF display (and maybe a cheeky US bomber flypast) !

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Perhaps not necessarily announced, but sorted out by DBH and awaiting announcement over the next 4(?) updates.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Hey Mr Benn, it’s possible that the flying display is booked up, but they just haven’t announced everything!
With the F35, the US demo team fly the A model. But we’ll have the B model flown by our very own for a few flypasts!

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
We've got the B in the flying, and hopefully an A with the US. But is there anywhere flies the F35-C yet?
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Only the US Navy. Which I highly doubt they’d rock up, unless they want to pitch it at Farnborough? (Sorry mods this might be going into wish list territory)
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
You’re right, but I thought Jason meant flying as in displaying.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Not sure how possible it is but the US navy hornet demo has a gap in their schedule from the start to end of July
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
I expect the USS Kearsarge will be going home by then?
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
The Superbug demo would actually be super popular with Joe Public now that a certain film has come out.....

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Does anyone know anything with what's happening with the US Navy Heritage Flight? I check their website every now and then, and they still have no shows for 2022 announced.
Fast jet fanatic.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
The above post is venturing slightly off topic. Some shows definitely have them pencilled in it seems though!
And just an interesting find, would anyone be able to explain why RIAT is on this calendar? (Reason it stood out was because it's the only show that's not American?)

Venturing off topic, yet very relevant to recent posts, regarding the F35C and Super hornet, which is why I asked it. So i don't understand the issue there.
And you'll find Sanicole is on that calender.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
There's clearly no issue, i'm just merely pointing it out that it is venturing off topic of (RIAT 2022 discussion thread) as i'm guilty of it too, before the mods step in and have to tell us so.Jameslw1993 wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 10:22 pmJMC wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 10:15 pmThe above post is venturing slightly off topic. Helpful response, i'll rephrase. Why are RIAT & Sanicole the only shows on that calendar? (Seeing as the F-35 heritage flight has previously shown both these shows on their calendar/or could be added in before the A-10 said they're no longer coming)
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Guys, the conversation is certainly moving into wish list territory…. There’s a separate thread for that….
I would not read anything into US Navy demo gaps for both Rhino teams and the F-35C - the teams are never as active as the USAF demos and often only perform one show a month.

I think you're reading too much into the traffic light updates. It's designed to give a look behind the scenes into what the team are doing and who we're talking to. Just because a country is in discussions with us, doesn't automatically guarantee they'll send an aircraft, so please don't set yourself your own expectations. I have no words to describe my distaste for your "stick to their word" comment. Try and use a sense of reality folks.
All minor mistakes, corrected by our web editor during the afternoon. But thank-you for highlighting.bobby 1211 wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 2:20 pmThere's a few errors on the RIAT website so I hope someone from DBH will see this post:
-RAF typhoon "in the spotlight page" is missing what days it is flying, instead having double static
-USAF Osprey "in the spotlight page" is missing what dates it will be at the show
-Finnish Army Aviation should be as listed as not participating
-The Rolls-Royce Heritage Flight Spitfire is listed as Static, and "in the spotlight page" it says is will only be at the show on the Friday, suggesting a static only appearance on the Friday.
No.
Maybe RIAT & Sanicole are the only European show to pay the membership for the International Council of Airshows, and therefore appear on their calendar? Splitting hairs territory really......JMC wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 10:45 pmWhy are RIAT & Sanicole the only shows on that calendar?JMC wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 10:15 pmAnd just an interesting find, would anyone be able to explain why RIAT is on this calendar? Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Wish I had enough time In my day to go through each and every aircraft and pick up some very minor details. Apart from the 757 im very happy with that update it’s going to be a great show
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Yes - I hope certain folks can read real traffic lights a bit better than virtual ones!! They're all amber until they touch down anyway...RIAT Air Ops wrote: ↑Fri 10 Jun 2022, 6:48 ambobby 1211 wrote: ↑Thu 09 Jun 2022, 10:52 amNo matter what they confirm today it will be a sad update for me - I was so exited what Egypt or zambia could potentially send.I think you're reading too much into the traffic light updates. Thank you for taking the time to check in and respond Peter.
Off topic-ish but I absolutely love that Viper scheme.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Thanks for clarifying for Peter. I just wasn’t sure what that involved & it wasn’t clear on that page as it was showing US aircraft participation.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

Does flying start at 10am or 9am this year?
