Remember those sensational Buccaneer take-off's!... Flt Lt Neil Benson (P) and Flt Lt Gary Davies (N) were the display crew. This was Benson's trademark departure.

Thanks for posting these images. I am Always a happy chap when 80's/90's airshow photos are on view. My happy days era for airshows. That Buccaneer did it take off? It didn't, just retracted the gear.

Great pix. I was at some of the UK shows - happy days. One thing though - wasn't the Phantom FG1 the F4K? I thought the F4M was the FGR2.

Thanks for pointing that out John, as mentioned elsewhere, notekeeping was not my strong point(I've got nothing before 1998!!!) so have to try and cobble it together the best I can!!

Thanks for the comments

A few more for you, including another barely airborne brick

Mirage IV is interesting, never seen one at an air show before. Great post, don't worry about the quality, it's just nice to reminisce on when we had an Air Force!

These are absolutely the closest to a 'time-warp' I think we can get. I have enjoyed this whole series & look forward to the updates!
Couple of points to note, I think the SR-71 is definitely from the 'mound' at the Mildenhall! Secondly, you must have been stood next to me on Media-day for the Tomcat 'AG-200' @ Yeovilton. We had a massive downpour just before they launched them (Dunkeswell IIRC?) & the underside of a variable sweep jet aint waterproof!!
Finally, although our memory tells us skies were more blue & the weather was always better in 'those days', your excellent pictures show otherwise? However the memory test for content is case proven... those days were the best!
