Re: IAT 1976
Wonderful stuff. There seems to be a distinct lack of barriers around the Austrian Skyvan.
Thanks for posting.

Re: IAT 1976
More fantastic shots of a truly memorable event. The year the Tattoo really took it's place at the top of the International air show scene.
That Herc must've been very close to the photobus!!

They're terrific. So many great looking aircraft from a golden period of military aviation. Hard to pick a favourite (the F-14 is particularly nice) but those FAA Buccaneers look the job!

What an utterly superb post. Great stuff Ian, its been great fun looking through these shots a few times.
My personal fave the F1-11 from the photo bus with the flight lines behind but its picky to pick out one here!

Re: IAT 1976
Amazing to think this show was closer to the Second World War than today...

Tried to do a 'then and now' pic with the Hercules - picture taken yesterday to demonstrate how different GC looks now!
However, I'm failing miserably in getting my picture to show - can anyone help please?

Re: IAT 1976
These are wonderful and great that you took slides and not bloody colour neg !!! What I'd really love to see are more flying shots , and as always , the teams get left out. Do you have any of Patrouille de France and Frecce Tricolori in action ??? Thanks for posting though, at last so more truly "old " stuff.
Re: IAT 1976
Wow what a set! The US Navy aircraft are the stars for me

Re: IAT 1976
dreamworker - sadly with my equipment then I never got many good flying shots, they all seem too distant and not sharp enough

Re: IAT 1976
Oh yes, I remember it well. My favourite has to be the KC97...
Here's a few shots of what the airfield looks like now...
If you're ever over this way pop in to the tower museum/visitor centre and have a look around. I think you'll like it. You can still walk to the runway cross section where the FIAT enclosure used to be. (photos 1& 6)

Re: IAT 1976
I remember the KC-97 arriving, we were camping at the end of the runway to be woken up by the 97 buzzing the tower early in the morning . A rush to get the camera . Just made it, got a couple of shots. Happy days.
