The annual migration to the Fens, over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, quite often the first big military show of the year and a chance to familiarise yourself with the display routines for the year. Its cheap entry price, friendly hospitality and stellar line ups always attracted big crowds. As would be expected the US and UK always provided aircraft in substantial numbers and the French, Belgians, Dutch and Germans were a guarantee both in the air and on static most years.
1992 was perhaps most remembered for the UK public debut of the F-117A Nighthawk, an aircraft from Tonopah. Other notables for this show included a French Air Force Epsilon in the flying display, the last display at Mildenhall of the Vulcan and RAF Phantom and for the enthusiasts a US Navy presence that included C-2 Greyhound and CT-39 Sabreliner on static and a fantastic F-14B Tomcat in the flying programme.

Another great set, that is making me feel old! I remember it well, first time I had seen a Greyhound. Last time I saw a A-26 fly ! Paul I am guessing these are scans? if so the quality is very good.

Lovely lovely stuff, from an absolute vintage year for airshows.
For goodness sake though, what a difference being on the other side of the runway has made - not a silhouette in sight. Unlike most of my Mildenhall sets!

Remember this show very well but would now definitely go round "the other side" for the flying. I am jealous of those F-4 shots especially!
