An12BP

Post by Zoom »

One of those flew overhead at 29,000 feet yesterday on its way South from Birmingham. Very noisy I saw the 4 exhaust plumes but the engine noise sounded like something much nearer.

Are they a common sight?

Yep, used to be daily a few years back but they're still at least once a week now.

They’re picking up in & out of BHX recently, getting a couple a week as well as a couple of An-26

I’ve not seen this one at BHX though & it seemed to rumble a fair bit more than others

Just to avoid confusion, can we correct the title to An12BP? I was trying to work out what an An128 was.

many thanks

Antonov An-12-BP/UR-CGW @ 21,200ft, according to ADB-S, has just flown over heading east. Woke me up.

Two a day has been common this week, mostly late at night, they're right noisy buggers

It has been glorious over the past week or so, sitting working at home to hear that soviet era drone as one of the two types took off. Nice distraction :-)
