78 Sqn celebrate it's 95th birthday Today. As part of a navigation and flying training sortie a Merlin flown by Sqn crews will use a route that takes in all the former WWI bases of the Sqn. Keep an eye out if you live near to Gosport (WWI home of A Flt) then to Hove (HQ throughout 1917) then to Telscombe Cliffs -nr Newhaven (WWI home of B Flt) then north to Penshurst (Home of C Flt). After that up to Biggin Hill (fwd base during 1918) then across to Harrietsham (nr Maidstone and where it all began). After that across the Thames to Sutton Farm AKA Hornchurch (entire Sqn based here for 1917 - 1919), across London and back to Benson.
