Eastbourne aircraft at Biggin

Post by Benviation »

Hi guys

Does anyone know/know where I can find out about which aircraft will be stationed at Biggin Hill during Eastbourne Airshow this weekend? Thinking of going to Biggin to get some photos of the arrivals and departures, I know the Reds will be there but anything else?

Maybe the Typhoon FGR4 and BBMF ? I guess the classic jets and other acts will be at Shoreham

I think the Norwegian Vampires were based at Lydd last year? I went down to Shoreham on the Sunday last year and the warbirds were using the Grass strip to take off, and landing right over your heads if you parked on the perimeter road by the river. Word of warning, they have changed the car park operators, make sure you get a ticket for the car park and put it on the dash board, don't stick it to the window as the adhesive is rubbish on the back and they fall off, leaving you with a nice parking ticket when you return.

They're currently at North Weald with the MiG-15, and the information I have from the Historical Flight is that they will all be operating out of North Weald this weekend.

I'm sure Vampire FB.52 last year was flying out off Shoreham  and yes it does say Dunsfold Airport on there website it also says together with others display aircraft also flying at this great airshow, so not sure if that's a mistake or not we will see.

As stated above, the information I have (that came from the Norwegian Historical Squadron themselves) is they they're flying out of North Weald this weekend.

Sadly not re the Vampire. The Runway is too short for Vampire ops.
