Busy over Bournemouth
Busy over Bournemouth
Been a Chinook circling high over for a while, the luxury 747 VP-BAT has just circles as if to land, and now a fisheries patrol (?) red and white dornier circling the bay.

Re: Busy over Bournemouth
Two or three nights ago there was a helicopter circling around the New Milton, Hants area for about 25 minutes. I'm assuming it was a police helicopter on some sort of operation?

Re: Busy over Bournemouth
Chinook was still doing its high orbits an hour or so later- before departing high up the sea front.

Re: Busy over Bournemouth
Chinook was doing ILS and VOR/NDB training at the airport and I believe the Cobham Dornier Do-228 was doing spray trials, plus I think they were out yesterday doing the same also.

Cheers. Did give a nice demonstration of how far the wokka sound carries- the number of times I've looked around, knowing there's a chinook about but not been able to see it! Sound very clear along seafront, with it orbiting the airport.

Chinook back again this evening.
Why would it oractice at Hurn rather than one at home, or one of the local RAF bases?
