Let's be honest we have 1 week until RIAT actually takes over the airfield so still plenty off time for them to arrive even then they have till next Thursday to arrive ready for the show.

Lets be honest if they fail to appear this year especially after the dutch and Italian f35 visiting there shores it would be egg on the face of the US & UK Government , Im sure they will turn up albeit a tad late .

The support tanker which is meant to be dragging the F-35As from Luke AFB is currently airborne, plotting over Oklahoma heading Eastbound. Reported they are due on Thursday. So far no ALTRVs posted to suggest otherwise

I believe the pilots have to have a rest period after a transatlantic flight, so I assume the Marham flypast will not happen Thursday. Hopefully it will take place another day, perhaps the day of the Rosyth flight.

Sid.

Time for another go , unless rain ( sorry , I mean "faulty tanker" ) stops play again.....
Fairford NOTAM :
( Times adjusted to BST )

B) FROM: 16/06/29 09:00
C) TO: 16/06/29 21:30
E) AD AND RWY 09/27 OPEN. AVAILABLE FOR SCHEDULED MOVEMENTS ONLY

Apparently one of the flights due in today is a RAF C-17 ..... should make it , as it's doing an extremely long flight all the way from Brize !!

If the callsigns of Clean51 & 52 are unchanged for the tankers - Both of them have just left Macdill.

I believe there's an RAF Globemaster out with the Lightnings in the US to bring over 17(R) Squadron's support equipment.

Should be the same......and they're showing up on ADS-B Exchange , if anyone wants to track them.

CLEAN52 has just passed Norfolk, Virginia. Presumably CLEAN51 was the air spare?

From ADS-B Exchange.

Clean 51/52 are just passing New York.

Reports one of the three F-35's went tech and had to RTB... unconfirmed reports they've swapped to a spare jet hence the 90 minute delay.

Unknown which F-35 went tech but knowing our luck it was probably the RAF one! :wall:

Are you worried we won't see RAF ones in the future Andy?

Are we really surprised that one went tech?

If the unconfirmed report is true that they've swapped to a spare it would be piloted by a Brit regardless.

Will be a wait and see what lands I guess.

Caper:- the arrival of BK-3 is a big thing for the RAF with months of planning going into events over the next 2 weeks. The aircraft not turning up due to going tech will be an embarrassment.

It's also nice to see an RAF one as I haven't seen one yet, seen plenty of USMC, USAF and KLu ones
;-)

Listening to the feed, two American pilots and one RAF on the F-35s. There's some photographers onboard at least one of the tankers and good news, they keep referring to the RAF F-35 for photos
