This will be for Sabre Strike.

From the US Army press release, likely to be B-1's or B-2's sometime over the next few days.

I thought it was for a U-2 departure? Assume the heavies won't arrive for the next few days.

U-2 departed in the first NOTAM slot.

Any heavies arriving today will have done well to get all the way from...whereever...without anyone, anywhere, picking them up!

Checking other fora & newsgroups, no sign of any departures for it yet, it would appear that they're expected later this week ( Thursday/Friday )
Post on FC says it was a U-2 - DRAGON 21 - departing Fairford earlier ( not arriving as I thought ) so no idea what this change is for.

Edited to say....beaten to it by Russ & HA.

Edited again to add....
Just checked all the active Atlas Air ( GTI ) aircraft, none coming anywhere near the UK so not one of them.

Wouldn't be for an A400 to do a few practices again, would it ? ( ZM414's been out & about this morning )

There's a couple of AR20 bookings that suggest tomorrow is the day the BUFFs come to play. Timing would be after 12pm, unless they take part in Arctic Challenge first

Also likely B-1B are on the refuelling track too. Not saying they are guaranteed to arrive in Blighty though

The rumours were for Thursday/Friday activity, so guess I'll have to keep a better check on the NOTAMs than I have done for the last few days.
Just thought -- can't be tomorrow, the weather forecast's for hot & sunny.....Friday's a better bet, rain & possible thunder storms !

The lower AR20 bookings were for a couple of E-3s  they dont or didn't usually use the low block. Hour and half until the start of the likely AR20 booking

Other forums are suggesting a group flight of up to 3 Buffs...

Just had someone up on 313.55 reporting 45 minutes out.
Missed callsign, but didn't sound like a B-52 or B-1.

Nowt showing on ADS-B -Exch. around here, not even a REACH aircraft

Edited to add...
Just remembered that 313.55 is also Mildenhall, so chances are it was the RC-135 ( TOPCAT 33 ) currently inbound there.

Mytee 96 eta 1300L
Mytee 51 eta 1516L

Latest timings should be both B-52's

Post on Milscanners says '96 has just been working 313.55
Nothing heard from my location, so it looks like it's coming in from the North.

Edited to say....
Correction, not North but South / Southeast as it's apparently inbound from Al Udeid ( according to posts on Milscanners )

No use to me ( and probably most of the other forum members on here ) then.

Now picking '96 up on 313.55 from my location ( very faint ).....still doesn't seem to be getting a response from Fairford.

No apology needed.....just that as you have to register & make 5 posts ( which presumably will be checked & approved by a moderator first ) it's not something someone could just pop across & check out today.
