C-130 today at Cambridge.

Post by iainpeden »

I visited Anglesey Abbey, which is on the Cambridge flightpath, today. At 1.30 p.m. local I saw a C-130 flying in and out of the cloud base. It appeared to have both the usual (pre 130J)underwing tanks and tanks on the outer wings. I'd be grateful if anybody can id the a/c.

(I do know Marshalls have the maintenance contracts for many air forces)
Thanks
Iain

Thanks Brian.
That makes sense as she is an H and the photos I can get of her show the usual underwing tanks and outerwing pylons.
Albeit a bit later than I saw her.

It wouldn't have been that one if the one you saw was at 1.30, as the Dutch one flew in directly from The Netherlands later in the afternoon. It could well have been a Mildenhall-based MC-130J as they have tanks on both wing pylons
