Having seen stunning some shots from a Dutch friend I really fancied the idea of a trip to Meiringen airbase in Switzerland. I took a gamble on the dates hoping I would get a)snow and b)F-5 Tigers, the Tigers only train a few weeks per year, being essentially a militia squadron. I checked out the 2021 schedule and booked my trip based on that, I tried to go as late as possible with regards to the snow, as I wanted as much daylight as possible - in mid winter the sun barely clears the mountains all day! Before my trip the Swiss Air Force released their 2022 schedule - result - the F-5s would be training while I was there.
On the Monday it rained all day, with absolutely no flying, the forecast for the rest of the week didn't look much better - I was feeling a bit depressed by the end of the first day! Anyway, things picked up the next day and although no snow at ground level there was some fresh snow at higher elevations.
On to the pics......

Thanks for the comments guys!
On to the Wednesday. After having a good day on the Tuesday I decided I'd head to Payerne for the day. Although the photo opprtunities aren't as good, there's a nice roof terrace you can get access to for a small fee, this provides a nice elevated view over the runway. In the afternoon I headed over to the official viewing area, as the lighting conditions aren't great from either side by that point.
