Arab Air Power GB - 1/32 Mig 21 MF - Eygptian Air Force
Guys,
A bit late for the party but this is my entry for this build. I have spent the last few days gluing the main sections together whilst waiting for the paints to arrive from MDC. I must say I am really looking forward to this build. It is somethign way different that I would usually do and I am loving it so far!
First up the contents
Intended scheme
The lovely Cutting Edge Cockpit that I was lucky enough to get a few years back!
Progress to date
More soon once the paint arrives - I intend to get the cockpit in and sealed for primer on the next installment

It's great that you're able to take part in this one James.
A cracking choice of kit and this is something that I'm really going to keep my eyes on.

Guys a small update - The Cutting Edge Cockpit is now painted, weathered and ready to be installed in the airframe. I have also glued the engine in place to allow the correct setting position to allow the tail to be added. I have not bothered to paint the engine as yet as little will be seen once the rear fuselage has been installed.
More to follow soon

Very nice sir, lovely detailing on the pit.
I'm looking forward to when I make up a Mig-21 so I can paint the blue/green interior. Was that your own mix or was it straight out of a pot?

Alan,
The paint mix was Gunze H46 (Emerald Green) and Tamiya X-14 (French Blue) - 50%/50% mix and a bit of thinner.
The paint was dulled down with a Paynes Grey Wash, left to dry and dry brushes with a stone grey wash. It was then finished with a satin varnish and installed!

Nice job on the cockpit James, note that the nose cone should be a Dark Green and not the same as the internal areas, but you knew that already
Should look impressive when finished

Scott that is the primer colour to cover the metal shock cone -
I do have a plan for the shock cone though - so watch this space!

Guys,
A bit of an update - not much real progress as I have been working on the five tone camoflage - more to follow soon
First up - the reason the nose was painted the wrong colour... With the aid of a bit of hairspray...
The seat - now completed
A few update shots of the Sand going on..
More to come soon

Cheers guys,
Still got so much more to do on this one - really loving the scheme tho, the orange just makes it stand out.
More to follow this week, should have the undercarrige sections completed later, the weapons rails are ongoing and the weapons need to be painted.
Glad you are liking it!

Cheers Alan,
It has not been the best participated in the world but there has been some good ones on here for sure.
Sorry I have not contributed much recently, just been flat out with work of all things!
Still have the satin coat, the oil weathering then fla coat to go... So about a month I would say!

Something better than that Alan. Going to be using oil paints and weathering. Might finish with pastels. But we shall see.
