1:144 Scale GB

Post by Fumbles »

Not many rules in this one, so it will leave a lot open to options. I'll be working on a few Revell 1:144 kits.

Rules
Have fun, ask questions if you need to (we are all here to help)

All models can be anything so long as it is in 1:100 - 1:144 scale
Running time 15 October 2015 - 15 October 2016

We'll get more Group builds running along side of this one. Have fun everyone!

Good to see this up and running, I will be doing a 1/144 S+M Viscount in eagle colors and a Minicraft EC-121 if I have time. :yahoo:

Good start Rob.. Since we'll be running this one for a year.. There will be lots of time for many 1/144 scale builds. I myself will have two on the go as early as Saturday. Then later near Christmas..... I'll get into a few of the bigger 1/144 aircraft like Concorde and the TU-144. Looking forward to seeing other peoples builds.

I've got the Revell An-124 Ruslan. But I will also have one that is being kept a secret for now...

Other domestic issues are intruding at the moment but I have a long list of 1/144 kits, some of which I'd like to have a go at. The long GB means I might have a fighting chance to have a go at some.
The choices will come feor this list.

Revell Airbus A380
Revell Antonov An124
Minicraft B377 Stratocruiser
Revell BAe146-100
Revell BAe146-200
Revell BAe146-100STA
Minicraft Boeing 707-420 done
Airfix Boeing 707-420
Revell Boeing 737-800 x 2
Revell Boeing 747-400
Minicraft Boeing 777-200
Airfix Boeing Clipper done
Airfix Caravelle
Airfix Comet 4B
Revell Concorde
Revell Concorde done
Airfix Concorde done
Revell DC-10-30
Minicraft DC-6
Revell Dornier Do.X done
Revell Fokker F100
Zvezda Ilyushin Il86 done
Eastern Express Ilyushin Il96-300 done
Revell Junkers G38
Minicraft L188 Electra
Glencoe Martin M-130 done
Minicraft Super Constellation done
Modelcraft TriStar

Tu154B
Zvezda Tu154M done
Zvezda Tupolev Tu134A done

I'm sure I can find something

The old Minicraft propliners are quite appealing though.

I like the Minicraft series , have made the MATS C-121 and KC-97 in the distant past. Quite fancy a C-47 and the Lancaster, and maybe a US Navy R5D. Im going for a bit of a diorama of Blackbushe Airport in the 50's, so the Eagle Viscount is a good start.

Hey guy,
When this GB looked like it was the favourite, i thought my stash was well stocked to jump right in! In the cold light of day, there is not too much i can do just now as i need a wee change to the central heating to free up a cupboard! That should happen very soon which should see one of the following come to the fore.

Revell A.320 that i need decals for.
Revell A.380 that i might need decals for.
Revell C-17A too soon since last one.
Revell An-124 not just now!
Minicraft KC-135E New Hampshire ANG who had a long association with the Leuchars Air Show.

I am better served for 1/200 kits!
Arabest,
Geoff.

I'll try and support this GB. I've got a Dragon Jolly Rogers CAG F-14 & F-18 in the stash that I keep looking at.

If you have time? You've completed the Viscount already  The EC-121 should be good :)

Not sure what to enter... will go up in the loft later and have a look.

I've got one or two lying around that I might do - I'll make a decision on which one to build shortly once I've cleared my bench. :hide:

Shouldn't that be a group "here's one I made earlier" project?

You've got a whole year to build something, why would you enter a kit that's already been built

I picked up a 1/144 Airfix BAC 1-11 at a bargain price yesterday. Will be finished in BCAL colors, not done any 1/144 jets so will make a nice change.

It looks like the GB is dying on its feet. 11 completed models in 6 months (7 of which are mine!) Any suggestions how to inject some enthusiasm would be welcome - or do we put it out of its misery and forget GBs on the forum?

As said on my A-40 thread, I'm in Hospital until Friday so I can't post much. I took the An-22 with me and managed to get quite a bit done in the evenings but won't post anything here until Sat onwards.

An-12 will come out soon after...

Sorry Maisie, the comment wasn't aimed at you or anyone in particular. The fact that yours has been the only response says it all really.

The wintertime is traditionally the time most models are built but now we're into spring I don't see how the GB is going to get many more contributions. I've plenty more to do so I'll press on for now - whether I'll make them as part of the GB , well , we'll see.

Would love to come in and help support this GB but family happenings is getting in the way just now! Need something to give me a big kick up the erse to get going again and seeing whats sitting around the country just now aint helping as i cant get near it!

As an aside, if i did get the injection i need, can 1/200 stuff be included as well?

Got a small question regarding this scale, I regularly visit Wonderland Models in Edinburgh and am interested more in the smaller 1:144 scale kits due to financial reasons and space, and when I look at the Revell part of the shop I'm a wee bit confused by the fact that some of the 1:144 aircraft kits are a little bigger and more expensive than others i.e. some of the C-17 etc size in this scale.
