2nd April 2019 and Harrier XV741 arrives at Brooklands. Re-configured to GR.1 standard by Jet Art Aviation it was loaned to the Museum to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Daily Mail Trans-Atlantic Air Race (of which the aircraft was the victor flying from London to New York), which was itself celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first trans-Atlantic crossing by Alcock and Brown in a Vickers Vimy. Harrier XV471 was put inside the "Vimy Pavilion as part of the new "First to the Fastest" exhibition celebrating both events.

This time it is aviation today! With the museum gearing up to reopen next month. All the live team especially, but the rest of the volunteers are now getting in to get the museum ready.

We did not know what to expect. 5 months is the longest Lindy has not had work on her in her entire life! We had done presentative work just before lock down but wasn't certain what we would find.

My first view this morning was encouraging.







We have spent the day doing basic maintenance and checking. Things got better when our ground power unit we call the green box, started first time! after suitable warming up power was applied to the jet and she lives!

We did a though check of her up and down. We had a work schedule for this year that is obviously behind, so some of our plans will be delayed. But we are very confident by the end of the year we will be back on track.
