Oh I didn't know they'd done Tigermeet as well - seen them a couple of times at Sanicole, the last time was with that all over painted Tiger in the lead, from 2016 I think...capercaillie wrote: ↑Fri 17 Jun 2022, 12:11 pmThey show up at the tigermeets as well, entertained us at Landivisiau for example. There used to be regular Belgian fourships at the shows with several passes and breaks back in the days. I remember Bierset in 1993 had F-16, Mirage 5 and Alpha Jet fourships.
RIAT ‘22 wish list

Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
Not so much as a 'wish', but more a question, why dont the RAF Falcons parachute team ever seem to appear at RIAT ? Just as a nice alternative display, especially for the kids/ families.
Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
Probably the time it takes up.

Day 2 of the virtual Air Tattoo they had a brief cameo (doing a vid and sending an aircraft are two different things mind) but I feel they potentially have intentions to send it one day!Bodz156 wrote: ↑Fri 17 Jun 2022, 11:56 amYeah, they only ever appear at Sanicole - as it's 4x 31 Squadron F-16AMs from down the road at Kleine-Brogel.
Here's a wishlisty item from left-field, I think the show could do with 1 more FJ display this year...what about the JF-17 Thunder demo from Pakistan? Not confirmed anything yet, they have been attending for the last few shows, it's a Farnborough year so they could take it there too (been before..) Probably pie in the sky, but I'd love to see that special scheme jet if they still have it painted up all green!
Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
An aircraft that hasn’t been mentioned yet (I don’t think) that is bang on in line with the trainer theme and US anniversary. The Boeing TX!

Boeing are a sponsor of the show and usually have a corporate presence. I suspect what's inferred in this instance is news emanating from there during RIAT, rather than actual hardware.
Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
I'd quite like to see the Tempest mock-up again.
Also the Scorpion - I remember one of the Textron people told me when it first came to RIAT (2013??) that they intended to get some sort of role demo worked up within a few years, but it's all gone quiet since then.

The Tempest mock-up was at Cosford - just the same shapeless lump of GRP it was the first time we saw it.CJS wrote: ↑Sat 18 Jun 2022, 9:35 pmI'd quite like to see the Tempest mock-up again.

Hasn't the Scorpion been shelved now? (At least in terms of flying any prototypes).

I understand that lightchop, that's why I posted it in the wish list
That post reminded me that the aircraft existed!

I’m deluded enough to keep thinking ‘this’ll be the year the B-1B flys I feel it in my bones (no pun intended)’
Been thinking it for about 10 years. I don’t learn!

Once I've seen it, just once, in 2007. It barrel-rolled for goodness' sake
Awesome.

Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
The line up is brilliant but I feel compared to other Farnborough years, there's not that one extra exotic display that is shared with the trade show. I know there's the Black Eagles but I'm thinking more a solo display of a brand new aircraft.

It'd be nice to see the Leonardo AW-609, although I doubt that would be around for a few years yet.
Re: RIAT ‘22 wish list
For a millisecond I thought they'd announced a B-52.
