What a cracking thread, some great photos already posted. I'm afraid that my pictures (of scanned prints) are not up to the quality of the others but here goes....

I was going to say i have never seen a RR paint scheme in the sky but then this popped up. I am lucky enough to spend a fair few hours a year up in G-BDDD above RAF Odiham with a friend of mine so i guess I can say ive seen one. Im setting up a photo shoot of DDD at dusk soon so will post the results here.

Cheers

Ian

Thanks for that one, new to me, although I see it no longer wears that scheme. Interesting though

Don't think Britannia XX367 has made an appearance yet either.

Keep'em coming! I never realise how many there's been over the years!

A raspberry ripple Comet, at last. Greenham Common 1981. What happened to XV814?

A beautiful aircraft, and a proper ripple, one of the first in fact. It was sadly scrapped at Boscombe Down after being a spares source for Canopus. A sad end to the last but one flying Comet in the world.

This was tha famous 'Comrod' nicknamed because of the early Nimrod tail. The last I heard was that the nose still existed at a private address somewhere in the Cotswolds. The model of it was the first Corgi Aviation Archive model that I ever bought. the Ripple collection has grown a bit since then!

Note the ammount of 'up elevator' for what remains a nose down attitude.
