On the 13th April 2014, Monarch retired the Airbus A300 from passenger service with a special enthusiasts flight from LGW > BHX.
Here she is arriving into Birmingham on a lovely sunny afternoon, much like today. I know there was a few UKAR members onboard...

The Australian Navy museum at Nowra, 16/4/17

When the RNZAF retired their Skyhawks they donated one of the two seaters
to the Museum, she is actually an ex Royal Australian Navy machine. The Kiwis
had purchased her from the RAN in the 1980's so in a sense she has come home.

Nice museum at Nowra - I think it is better than Point Cook in many ways.

Also can pop outside on the balcony and watch the Helicopters -.


Couple of questions -

Did they ever get the Tracer going? It was near flying a while ago but never heard any more?

And I heard Nowra airfield was damaged in the fires- any idea how much?

I suspect the 2 derelict tracers in the bush - near the airfield are no more?

Looks like we might get back to business quite soon with the Virus (as long as we bar the rest of the world) I see many airshows in Australia are still 'on'
and it looks possible that they might be fine later this year. I can't imagine Europe or the US having an airshow season next year though - hmmmm

Sorry mate don't live in the area and again sorry I am not
familiar with the "Tracer" you are referring to? I suspect you
may have miss typed and meant to write Tracker. I have seen
they have one of the ex Nowra ones flying up at HARS.

And yes the NOWRA Navy museum is a beauty, every time
I've been there I've had it to myself!

Yeah Trackers! HARS is amazing - just a shame they don't really fly many of their own aircraft at the Illawarra show.

Nice to meet local boy Stu Kynaston again - we both went to the same school, though not at the same time, and his sister and I are quite firm friends (and used to date, long ago! ). And I think that’s Tom Mercer in the window, too, who was writing a book about the Chinook display team back then.
