Last year and spent three hours waiting for G-IRTY at a cold Goodwood. Thankfully, after not allowing access for her departure Goodwood decided to allow spectators for her return. 4 months, 27,000 miles and over 30 countries around the world in a single-seat world war two fighter. It has to rank up there with the other great aviation achievements:

Four years ago today I was doing what the chap in the background was doing, walking my dog at the disused airfield at Davidstow.
His dog looked remarkably well disciplined, alas mine isn't and I had to shove mine in the car quickly.

If there was a 48 hour comp for photos featuring horse/sheep/cow poo, I'd have hundreds to chose from.

Back in 2018 I was over at Elvington, working on the Jet.

Besides the usual weekly maintenance, we was working on the electrical systems. If you look above the wing , you will see our Plenum chamber is open. It contains many of the aircraft's electrical systems.

Our neighbour is the Nimrod, which looked good in this winter light.

Thanks to both Andy's for the comments the previous day. I was so lucky to see the MR4 fly so regularly, and have a decent set of pictures on them. Andy I remember your pics of her being scrapped. a stupid move made at the wrong time by the tories.

Back to 2011 today, the night shoot at Coventry.

First shot was not in the shoot, but with a full moon and plenty airfield lights it was easy to get non display shots.

After the shoot, we stayed back as we are friends with the Shackleton team, so was able to get some more non show shots.

The rare De Havilland Heron, does it still exist? and if so is it still airworthy?

On this day one year ago, Exercise Cobra Warrior was in full swing - the highlight surely being the Indian Mirages...

[Yes, I know this thread is something of the past, and we are back to being out and about rather than trying to pass the time looking back, but this one felt worth remembering with the exercise not taking place this March].
