I'd like to have a comp where the aircraft is small in the frame.

2016, RAAF C17 climb out.

2017, Kiwi Dash 8 300 flew to OZ and back for a repaint.

2018, Eurofox Chris Pote with a few co-pilots flew direct to NZ 1,400 odd kms,
this was the last leg of a UK to NZ flight to commemorate 100 years of RAF.

For my photographic tastes, the primary reason to 'keep it wide' is to capture a sense of the location, which is what I did for the following three images...

A great theme. I like to 'zoom back', as Peter says to capture a wider sense of the place or the sky rather than just the aircraft.

Why bother carrying extra-powerful hyper-priced super-heavy zooms for "small in the frame" shots !
