A few oldies
Hercules W.2 XV208 at Mildenhall in 1984. Used for A400 engine development and I think bits are still at Cambridge.

Hercules C.4 N4242N at Farnborough 1998. Became ZH873 and damaged beyond repair in a landing accident in Iraq in 2017.

Hercules C.1 XV179 at Leuchars in 1984. This aircraft was shot down in Iraq in 2005.

Hercules C.1 XV185 at Leuchars in 1987. Scrapped 2005.

C-130H Hercules of the Singapore AF at Leuchars in 1983. Possibly still current.

Some scan's of slides taken at MASDC in 1980 illustrating the original 'A' model:

The 5th production C-130A off the line, Roman nosed 53-3133 JC-130A ASD:

Another Roman nosed example the 19th C-130A off the line, 54-1632 C-130A AFRES:

56 fiscal DC-130A ex 11 TDS USAF:

Another 56 fiscal C-130A with unusual duplicate serial presentation on the fin:

Taken on the infamous bus tour when you were allowed to walk / run along the lines of aircraft, the Health & Safety briefing was 'Don't go under the aircraft that's where the snakes live' .......

Not much diversification here, fortunate to see RAAF C130J's at our local strip
on a regular basis for training. Arrive in the afternoon perform around an hour
of touch and goes, then park up and do touch and goes into the night.

Hi chaps, ah, the ubiquitous One-Thirty. This thread will have huge variety....nice. Mine are all from the 90s

Mojave 1996, US Navy DC drone variant

RIAT 1996, Malaysian on North side from photobus. That's a long way to come to sit inaccessible for a week

Over AMARC 1996, inspired by Keith's pics, I remembered this one. That's a lot of Herc

IAT 1994, 40th Anniversary bash. Ah, those were the days.....when mostly, we had no idea what from where was turning up

South of France 1994. Chance encounter with a Moroccan, taken lying down from within a tent. Taken with(in)tent

Another one of those "only 5" moments, for such a widely used type... I've stuck mainly with RAF 130s

I like this shot but I have a question not related to the competition and sorry for the thread drag but I've noticed, over the past few years, that there are a few Hercules airframes within the RAF, that have this patchwork paint appearance, is it intentional or is there another reason for it?

I intend modelling an RAF Hercules like this, at some stage, in the future...

Compliment appreciated: I assume it's to do with deep maintenance/fatigue mods/other life extension, the areas seem to be mostly symmetrical. Does make for a striking appearance! Hopefully someone can tell us the actual programme.

Dear All, what a great selection of the much loved C-130 Hercules in a huge variety of guises.

Very difficult to choose and a touch and go between Capercaillie for the NC-130H at Edwards (a new one on me) and Seamus for the low level C-130J in Devon. However as a low level enthusiast the winner is Seamus for the Devon low level C-130J in great autumn/winter light.

Over to you Shaun
