Camping here currently. Seafire arrived, Anson and Gladiator flew 3 times, Sea Hurricane also flew. We got a mini-display today.

Re: Season Opener
Absolutely no way I’m paying £42 for an afternoon in unsure weather old warden
Re: Season Opener
Spiteful god damn weather, honestly, just 24/48 hours out.
Every damn time. I swear I haven’t been to a “good weather” OW for at least a couple of years now. Every one has been grey & dull.
Perhaps I’m the jinx, sorry lads!

I understand the difficult financial scene and the vagueness of weather reports, however my view is that I have spent close to zero on airshows over the past two years and recall that Old Warden has had a few shows when a gap appeared locally despite the forecasts. So fingers crossed, bag packed and looking forward to it.

Re: Season Opener
I'm the same as long as it doesn't rain and no gale force winds, I'll take it it'll be a first for me with poor weather. I usually need a bath in calamine lotion when I get home.Amp wrote: ↑Sat 30 Apr 2022, 1:05 pmI understand the difficult financial scene and the vagueness of weather reports, however my view is that I have spent close to zero on airshows over the past two years and recall that Old Warden has had a few shows when a gap appeared locally despite the forecasts. Re: Season Opener
Yes, it's a shame about the weather, but I want to show my financial support after a couple of years of hardship on airshows...I'll be there!

So queue for 20 minutes to order and pay for bacon and tea. Then queue again for 20 minutes to get bacon then join 3rd queue for tea....

Re: Season Opener
Second Se5a and Spitfire MH434 have gone tech.
Weather grey and drab but looks like a decent turnout in visitors.
Slightly breezy so the Edwardians are likely to be off the menu, we're probably going to ending with the avro Anson.

Re: Season Opener
Grey, bit of a breeze, the odd very light drop of moisture but otherwise passable.
