Another. Is this the former RAF-marked “shark” mustang?

Yes it is - I'll update the participants list at the top. Would be nice to see the two RR Flight display together (as well as solo).

Just seen an advert on facebook for this event, saying a "star item" will be announced soon for the Saturday flying display. I am attending on the Saturday so very much looking forward to seeing what the star item is.

Me too, I can only think it has to be a fast Jet? Nothing on the Typhhon display page on those dates, but it doesn't have RIAT either. Of course it could be something thats really a star item like a B-1 display, LOL!

Already confirmed that no Typhoon display at Ragley this year. A hint was dropped a few days ago that it is "jet(s)". What is the status of the Gnat Display Team now? A singleton displayed at Nuneaton in 2019 (second aircraft in pair went tech).

A nice local addition for the Saturday - the Coventry based Vampire (WZ507), with a further addition for the Saturday line-up due in a few days.

Not sure if this is a new addition or I just missed it when looking at the website recently, but I note the Falcons parachute team are down to display on all 3 days of the air festival.

Not new, they were announced for all three days when the RAF allocations were confirmed. We are still due another addition for the Saturday I gather.

Ah right, I guess I must have simply missed them when looking at the website. I am looking forward to seeing the further addition for Saturday, the recent announcement of the Vampire display on Saturday was most welcome. Not very often you see that one at a display anymore.

Do you ever see it at a display these days? When was the last time it displayed on the U.K. mainland?

It was to have displayed at the first MAF in 2018 but for reasons I don't remember it was a no-show.

The Fourniers withdrawal is a shame, Bob puts on such a graceful display, seem to remember he was stuck in Australia last year due to Covid restrictions so missed 2021 as well. Nice addition for the Catalina on Friday and Saturday, gather another as yet unconfirmed aircraft is to be added to replace the Thursday Fournier slot.

The Thursday schedule has now been extended with a longer airshow although the nightfire pyrotechnic display is down to just 15mins. Shame as this is one of my favourite parts of the show. Still shaping up to be a good event though.
