Do we know if there are going to be any arrivals arriving on the Monday or Tuesday?

The Americans have, in the past, arrived and left outside of the Wednesday-Monday time frame. I'm guessing but I presume they are more easily able to as it's their own ATC up to the point that it's handed over to RIAT ATC which (again I presume) is from Weds to Mon and again afterwards.

Other than the occasional broken aircraft departing later than Monday, I don't recall anything non-US either arriving or leaving outside the Wednesday to Monday slots.

Caveat: I'm often wrong about these things!

Yes you are.

RAF Typhoon - 11 sqn special and Japanese P-1s arrived before Wednesday for example in recent years.

And the last time my son and I attended RIAT together (2018) the B-52 and B-1 left on the Tuesday. We stayed an extra night at Kempsford to see/photo/video them.
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....

Well last time I checked they were both American, so I at least wasn't wrong there!

Following 2019, a GAF Tornado left 4 weeks later (it was broken though  ).

I do remember being a little annoyed, at the time, about the Japanese arriving early.

Talk about thread drift, we have a dedicated arrivals thread and we are onto departing Americans and Germans within a dozen posts. Noboby takes things seriously anymore!

Is the E-4 going to arrive during daylight and when P&V is open on Wednesday and Thursday, its the big question most folks would like to know.

Is anyone going to offer any thoughts?

Thursday, after everything closes, then parked up in Green with power to the aircraft so it can make a quick getaway if required.

Just to note on this, we’ll be bringing back our live Twitter widget so you can see real time updates from various accounts.

Similarly, I’ll do live arrivals again (notwithstanding mobile data etc)

Clearly, if it does have to make a quick getaway then something bad has happened (especially as there are 3 others that could be used) but if it did have to leave mid-show that would be rather exciting wouldn't it?!

Indeed... might need extra sun cream to cater for the conditions, and maybe wear a second layer of aviator shades ;)

👍 always nice to see the pictures (assume you'll be down the western end). I tried to do a fairly up to date one from East in 2019 on my Twitter, will try again this year too (same username as here)

Hope the E-4B does turn up either early Wednesday or at least when P&V is open. Anything else seems like a recipe for large gatherings on the road-side (H&S nightmare).

It may be something as mundane as whatever VIP it's brought over want to go home/have a meeting they need to get back for/etc. (this is on the assumption that the USAF aren't going to spend a $160k per hour to fly it all the way to RIAT simply because Peter asked nicely, the E-4 is the most expensive aircraft in the US inventory to operate). It may also be one of the alert aircraft in the US has gone tech and therefore cover is needed. I can't remember the last time all four E-4Bs were active at the same time, at the moment only two are active.

73-1676 last flew 1 July
73-1677 hasn't flown in 2022
74-0787 last flew 5 July
75-0125 last flew 25 May to Lackland AFB and is still there, probably under maintenance with Boeing

I always find factor 1m works well in such situations. That and a lead baseball cap.
