I must admit after the Swiss Hornet (admittedly it didn't make it) , Typhoon, and Red Arrows were all at the Summer airshow last year I booked this years tickets expecting a bit more in the way of loud exciting displays... finding it difficult to get excited for this one after a weekend at Cosford!

Oh! The show is this weekend coming. I thought that was the early wish-list, not the sum of all things expected? Interestingly the weather forecast shows a couple more things for the Saturday show, like wind & thunderstorms. :grimacing:

I’ve religiously done every duxford show for years and it feels sad not to be going this weekend but I look at the list and although some nice warbirds and classic jets are going I personally look at all the display teams and just don’t get the same excitement. They are good and I enjoy them but they aren’t what sell me an airshow ticket

I must admit I feel the same. :disappointed: and with that in mind and the line up for Shuttleworth's Fly Navy show only 2 weeks later looking really good, I'll probably give it a miss this year and pop along to their September and October shows.

Same for me... never missed Legends, and only rarely miss the September show. This line up has a few nice items, but nowhere near enough, and way too many filler items. It's hard to believe it's been put together by an enthusiast.

PH-HOK was one of them, only one showing on ADSB - went right over me in Rayne

Looking at that schedule makes me sad. It’s not that I hate any of those acts, they all have their own charm to them but that lineup isn’t a duxford show for me. Especially when you see what they achieve in the September shows in comparison

I was going to go Friday to catch arrivals and practices but I think the weather is just going to be too hot for me to do so. Shame as the weekend weather looks wet!

Yes, they are according to a post via FB
PlanesTV.com
we'll be live next weekend from Duxford, then Headcorn and of course Air Tattoo. Lots of action coming up!

although having now seen the flying programme, I really don't think it's worth the drive and i'm only 35 miles away. That wouldn't even entice me into the naughty field if it were still available, that's how weak I feel it is.
Very sad to Duxford shows degenerating to this - my brother wanted to take me to this for my 70th birthday in one of the special enclosures, fortunately I persuaded him that the flightline enclosure at Headcorn would be a better bet so we are off there on the 25th

Its just mad to me that two years ago there was that great Czech contingent planned along with the Belgian F-16, last year there was the F-18, Typhoon and Reds and now we've got this...?

I can't make head or tail of it, but I won't rush to buy advanced tickets as I did (at great expense) for this show.

I'll be honest if i'd paid for a ticket to this i'd be very disappointed, the line up looks very thin to say the least... I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come in the shape of their airshows.. :(

Mmm, I think that list is quite bland compared to previous Duxford shows. I know there's loads of other things to do like the trade stands, the museum and just seeing what's going in the hangers but I think I'll be letting Shuttleworth have my money this time. Bring back Legends!!

£45 ?! :-o.
Oddly this is where being an IWM member does not pay. For a non member the real cost of the Air show could be said to be £20 as the museum entry is £25. Members who get free entry pay the full cost less the small discount. Although the Flying Days are free most of the other events and extras have no member discount.

And free access to a Members enclosure...
If you are an IWM Member, please make sure you have your IWM Membership card with you, as you will need to show this on entry along with your air show ticket to gain entry to the members area.

The Members marquee includes seating and toilets and is located in the Red Zone, in front of the American Air Museum.

Become a member online or sign up at Duxford Summer Air Show. There will be membership joining points across the showground on the day to find out more.

I'm concious of the futility of complaining about Duxford and it's air shows on forums and social media.

My question then, are there any worthwhile channels that enthusiasts and supporters can use to send feedback to IWM? I want to support Duxford and be enthusiastic about it, but IWM make it increasingly challenging to feel positive.
