Evening Air Show 16/07/22

Post by 5944 »

Wow!

"We are delighted to announce the Republic of Korea Air Force display team the Black Eagles will be performing three flypasts at our Evening Drive-in Air Show this Saturday as part of their 2022 European tour.

Flying eight KAI T-50B Golden Eagle trainer jets, this will be one of only four UK appearances scheduled for this tour and their first ever appearance at Shuttleworth!

Book now to come and watch this rare display team in action over the skies of Bedfordshire: www.shuttleworth.org/eveningdrivein"

O dear, this evening show was originally planned as a 90th anniversary celebration for the opening of Old Warden airfield and Richard Shuttleworth purchasing Moth G-EBWD. Sounds like its being "gate crashed". Guessing if Fairford ends with the Korean team then they can transit up to OW before their display slot.

I think if you can manage to get the Republic of Korea's Air Force display team to do a couple of flypasts, it's a deviation worth taking!

I seem to be the only one who went, so I would say a typical but very good Shuttleworth evening show. There was a very hairy incident with the M1C but a superb bit of airmanship saved the day. Highlights (for me) where the Arrow Active, Miles Gemini and the barnstorming.

Seized engine by all accounts in the M1C sadly. Dodge was lucky to get it over the hedge.
