Today in Mombassa 'Fightertown'

Post by HeyfordDave111 »

Hi everyone,

Seen today in Mombassa, and definitely ones for the album..... 2 x Kenyan AF T-38's, and 2 x Kenyan AF F-5's.
Took pics with my phone for the record, as i had my big lens etc but didnt want to feel the wrath of security.
Nice rare birds and ones i never thought i'd see. 1 x F-5 had engine problems so left the line for a bit but when i left all 4 were on the pan.

Also noted were a DM herc. taking off as i arrived, and a 6 and a 4 blade herc (USAF both i think) , parked by the fast jets.

If anyone has regs / numbers for the FJ's and, or, the herks, i would be grateful.
Thanks
Dave

Dave, I had just the same problem in 1990. The Kenyan AF were putting on a show for the president at his seaside palace. While we were waiting for our flight we were entertained by F-5s and Hawks - my camera also stayed firmly in its bag, but I did get some shots of the military ramp on climb out.
