Is there going to be a UKAR trip to Axalp this year then? It's something I'd quite like to do myself.

I see 4Aviation tours have it on their calendar, but no information as of yet.

Yeah same, I'm saving up to hopefully maybe do something else but Radom, Axalp etc are off the cards. Not that I regret it!

It depends of from where you start the climb. If you start from Schwarzwaldalp on the south of Wildgärst, you will cross a little glacier at the end, if you come from Axalp village, it's not so complicated although it is a bit tricky to find the path in the dark. Both ways join for the last climb and at some places, you really have to take care of where you put your feet. But as Lozza said, the hardest thing is the 5000 ft climb with the photogear, dry clothes, and something to eat and drink ; the worst for me is the descent :wink:
