Marham Tonkas

Post by Roughcutter »

A small group of us are staying at Tattershall Lakes for a few days next week and will most likely venture out and about the neighbourhood during our stay, which will include (weather permitting) an excursion to Lakenheath/Mildenhall. Is it worth a stop off at Marham - I know "how long is a piece of string?". Although the official retirement date is 31st March, have the Tonka's now been permanently grounded, is there any possibility that they might still fly in the meantime (to use up their hours)?

Last flight is 14th March.

It looks to me as if routine flying may have ceased last week - both Monday and Wednesday this week were blanks, with only NOTAMed flights taking place on Tuesday and today.

There should be one flying next Friday, and then the disbandment parade on the 14th. I don't know of any more planned flights.
