Davis Monthan Airshow 2014

Post by Mictheslik »

Dates have been released for the open house as 12/13th April 2014.

I'm tempted as I'll be in the states at the time anyway and can combine it with a trip to the boneyards...anyone else considering it as I'm unsure of going alone :P

Remember when we went to Payerne on that Wednesday?

As airshow venues go it looks awful, shooting into the sun all day.

A very good chance that I'll be flying down from Vancouver for this show. As Tony says... Not the best for photography. But it is free, it is a Airshow and in the same city as the Boneyard. A plus is maybe some spotting at Tucson International for some out of country F-16s if they are still around.

You have got the museum at Pima just outside the boneyard as well. A couple of years ago I had a days release from a family holiday and spent the day at Pima and the boneyard fantastic. However there is also a lot to do around Tuscon - the film studios where many westerns have been filmed, the desert zoo and the biosphere. There are also lots of budget hotels.

The Pima museum use to operate a bus trip down celebrity row and some of the main alleys.
Not too good for photography as you are shooting through tinted windows , but if you are a number cruncher , a real good oppurtunity for loads of numbers.

It still was in the summer of 2012 - great opportunity. I posted some pictures from Pima and D-M - end of August/beginning of September 12.

Hi all, a bit of a temporary subject change. But as you guys are talking about airshows in the states, Does anyone know how, when and if the RAF have attended a show the over there? All I can find online was there RED ARROWS in NEWYORK. Many thanks for any info
