Irish PC-9 appears to be circling South West of Cosford, another potential unannounced static aircraft, or did I miss that one?

Rafales (plural?!) and a Transall in support have apparently arrived at Shawbury.
Which museum lent them the Transall?
Maybe it was a GABRIEL?
Support is a Casa 235.

Although the show's official Facebook/Twitter accounts did state it was a transall, before being corrected
Glad you also noticed that the original tweet changed, I was starting to think I'd gone slightly mad!

France does still have some C160s soldiering on for a couple of years though doesn't it? Wouldn't have minded a cheeky joint flypast of a French Transall alongside a British Hercules before the two types retire.

I was actually at the station today and saw the f16 and rafale display! Was amazing displays by both! Will they not practice tomorrow now as they turned up today? Was thinking of bringing a friend down to see them but if they won’t come tomorrow then I won’t bother. :)

Was the F-16 a full display or just a recce of the airfield ? A display normally lasts around 10 minutes and normally involves different manoeuvres/aerobatics for those that are unsure.

F16 and Rafale were a full display

Probably won’t be any fast jet validations tomorrow then if they’ve all been done today.Might just wait till Sunday now.

Maybe an ignorant question but is it usual for foreign forces to send a "jet and a spare"? Sounds like there's two F16s come over and two Rafales but both items are down as solo displays and presumably neither could land at Cosford to join the static.

I can't think of any reason to send two other than as a spare? Would seem an expensive way to ensure the pilots don't get lonely!

Rafale was superb as ever but I think the Belgian F-16 edged it today, pulling lots of vapour and the jet looked glorious in the sun. Hopefully Cosford put them on late afternoon on Sunday so we all get the benefit.

Most teams send a spare jet incase there is an issue with one of them, they can then just jump into the other.

That’s the usual course. They’re spare airframes in case of unserviceability.

So across two different threads we have people that are quite sure that the F-16 did a full display, and also that it only did a recce.

Perhaps this bit of information will help people make their decisions as to what it did, I'm quite amazed that people can't tell the difference!

Earlier in the day an F16 did a recce, the X tiger I believe! Later on the F16 Viper came and did a full display and 15 minutes after the Rafale did a full display.

Hi All

Just wondering if any of you wise old owls would have the best frequencies to listen to ATC whilst at the show on Sunday?

Many thanks in advance.

According to a Facebook group (not always the most reliable of sources) a Hawker Hunter has turned up at Cosford today, can only assume if correct its one of the HHA ones arriving for the static display but seems a bit unlikely. I'm wondering if someone has simply made a mistake and it was something else, or one of the HHA ones was up on a routine flight and just happened to be near Cosford at the time.
Nope, no Hunter

F16 display looks impressive. Footage shows it making maneuevers I didn’t think it could do/not often seen in other F16 displays.

yes 100% agree 👍 that the Belgium 🇧🇪 AF display routine was just amazing and the best F16 display I've seen for quite some time - all that negative-G😳 Rafale love the camo, impressive movability
