Great Shame - Can`t allow `nice open spaces` to remain `nice open spaces` these days.
Much better to turn them to concrete and bricks in the never ending war on aviation..

I think it maybe a case of acquiring the airfield under the auspices of getting planning permission for something “aviation sympathetic”, and then when (perhaps unsurprisingly) pp isn’t granted, making millions from having to resort to building housing on the whole site.
