I think we've also missed the Fiat off that's at Duxford.

Interesting comment that TFCs Beaufighter has been restarted, Have they found some engines?

Based at SWAM, St Athan. Doesn't look like it's flying anywhere soon.

So are the two Harriers which are being RtoF.
The Sea Devon which was scheduled for RtoF as well as some of Horizon's other projects are also there ( Horizon seems to have moved a lot of their stuff to the museum ) but no idea if they're ongoing, on hold, or binned.

Work has not yet started AFAIK, the owners are still at the stage of gathering parts and data.
Either 2 or 3 P-40s ahead of it at PioneerAero, plus when-ever the Kingfisher fits.
Wal Denholm mentioned on a Mossie TV piece that the Spitfire (TB252) that they have had for some years is now planned for Oshkosh 2020.
Not sure if this is viewable outside NZ

Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
TFC will hopefully have its single seat Sea Fury back from restoration in the USA... it's already on the CAA register as G-SEAF and is the ex-OFMC red 'frame from Duxford in the 90s.

If that's the case, if you want to take a photo of it, do it PDQ.

Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
Technically no longer being restored to flight, we managed to do the maiden post-restoration flight of the sole Slingsby Type 28, the later Type 21B prototype, last week. Took us only 2700 hours over a period of ten years to get air under its wings again

Northwest Helicopters in Olympia Wa usually has a Huey or two in the pipeline. Latest is a Longknife Bastard Cav bird.
Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
Over here in Australia, we have quite a few historic aircraft being restored to flying condition.
In no particular order: 707-138, S-2G Tracker, DC-4 (I think it's a C-54), DH-115 Vampire, Bristol Beaufighter, 2 x Fokker F27-500, 2 x Sea Fury,
2 x Spitfire Mk IX, Spitfire Mk V, possible Seafire, 2 x Boomerangs, F4U Corsair, at least two Mustangs (one a PR model). There's probably more that I do not know about. It's going to be a very interesting few years.

Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
Is there a reputable source for all three of those G-registered Tempests being restored to flight, besides Scramble apparently reporting it and a Facebook group running it as news? The Mk.V is also a Sabre-powered variant, which makes the claim all the more dubious. Flypast's recent Tempest article explains that one was acquired for parts and has since been put back up for sale, which quite succinctly disproves Scramble's claim.

Re: Current aircraft being restored to flight
No, the Mk.V JN768 (G-TMPV) was owned by Richard Grace for a time, he sold it to Anglia Aircraft Restorations as a source of parts for Mk.II MW763 (G-TEMT), before putting it on the market again.
Edit: That was in answer to Elliott's question, which he has since removed and answered himself

AFAIK the Tempest V project was parted out, with the remaining bits going to the Typhoon group.

Another that springs to mind is Bristol Beaufort A9-141/VH-KTW, a long term project that may be another year or two from flying.
Looking at Spitfires Vintage Fighter Restorations at Scone, NSW, currently has the following underway:
- LF.IXb MH415
- F.Mk.IX MH603
- F.Vc MA353/A58-232
- F.Vc BS164/A58-63
- Seafire F Mk.XV SW800
Details of the latter three can be found here.
As far as Sea Furies are concerned FB.11 WG630 is with the HARS Navy Heritage Flight and Baghdad Fury FB.10 VH-SHF, at Pay's Air Service, are both under restoration to fly.
Boomerangs - Greg Batts is working on four with his own A46-54 hoped to fly by Christmas this year, and Ian Baker is working on three and last year acquired at least four more. He has one for sale if anyone's interested?
Details of the Beaufighter project can be found here and one of the companies involved, Historic Aircraft Restorations Limited, also has three P-38s and one or two P-47s underway.

G'day Mike.
Dis one up at beautiful Mareeba ... http://warbirdsnews.com/warbird-restora ... under.html
and there's also triple India which has recently returned to the air following repairs of the damage sustained during a wheels-up a couple of years ago. You can buy it if you have a spare $5M Australian pesos.

I'm also another 'departee' from a certain Forum and look forward to seeing this Forum develop and grow over forthcoming years.
So Being Restored to Flight.......... Three whispers that have become silent in the recent past. Was there any validity to them or just wishful gossip?
Indian Air Force were said to be looking at restoring their museum based Spitfire and Hurricane and possibly another couple of airframe types to flying memorial duties again. Any comments or updates?
Israeli Air Force, were they really serious in saying that they were close to deciding that a second stored Spitfire Mark lX might be prepred for memorial flying duties. Fact or fantasy?
The South African Air Force have the wreckage of a Spitfre Mk IX that had been restored to flying memorial duties when Merlin trouble in flight caused the aircraft to dead stick land short on a wall. The governemnt were said at that time to be too short of funds to rebuild it again but there was some talk about some civilians starting a crowd funding scheme to get it under way. Are there any updates?

Most updates I've seen regarding the project have been on Facebook but the team has a website here: http://www.spitfire-restoration.co.za/
