Big aircraft... C5 and AN124 confirmed?

The line up is already looking good, interested to see what the next announcements will be. Looking at previous line ups (not foolproof approach admittedly) maybe expect over 20 acts so could still be a few to go. The Twitter response about the A400m is interesting. Maybe they'll be able to get one of the "rarer" RAF assets. Hercules was rumoured to do a couple of goodbye flypasts this year so may be an option, or even get a rivet joint to swing by on the way back from a sortie.

Isn't the theme the jubilee? Be good if they could get something that first flew in 1952. B52 would be amazing if they can convince the Americans to join the party, though maybe a Pembroke or something might be more realistic.

It'd be nice to see a few more classics on there, a P47 or P51 maybe. Also a bit strange how the Dakota is prominent on the posters but not in the line up. Hopefully they'll start announcing other stuff soon!

Their FB post of a similar nature seems to suggest some announcements in the coming days.

I do think they mean big announcements in terms of the announcement itself and not necessarily big aircraft size wise.

Perhaps they should reveal some of these unannounced participants before encouraging people to purchase their tickets. With so little time to go, the static park is virtually empty and the flying display remains rather thin. There’s a plethora acts that I’m sure would be well-suited to Cosford, such as Historic Helicopters, Ultimate Fighters, and Navy Wings’ Seafire, to name a few. Hopefully some of these will be added in the coming days.

Where is the chatter about the Grippen cancelling coming from? I've seen a few on FB also say they have heard it's cancelled.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, but its never been a reliable attendee as far as I can remember, im sure the announcement was originally met with trepidation aswell.

But just to balance it out, Social Media rumours some times get majorly out of hand. I remember in 2019 when rumours were rife that the Czech Gripen would not be able to display because it did not do a validation display at Cosford.... Thankfully that turned out to be nonsense.

I suppose there’s a largely new team in place since the last event in 2019.

The official participation list doesn't have the chinook or rich Goodwin's pits listed. Flightlines list was accurate as from May 7th. Bit of a lag!

Seem to remember an incident involving the Gripen trying to validate on the Saturday, and some utter fool flying a drone into the restricted airspace over Cosford. Thus nearly causing the validation to be aborted. Word soon got round on social media and caused all the confusion that evening.

The RAFAT are only an 8-ship this season.

That has never been confirmed.

While they have been training with only 8 at the minute as Red 5 seems to be missing, 10 Aircraft went on their training over-seas. They could still do 9, right now it looks like 8 but there has been 0 confirmation. It is possible a late join up with the team, but it would be a squeeze.

I dont think they should bother putting the Hungarian gripes on the confirmed list until its wheels hit the ground. 🤣

Official cosford site still not showing chinook or pits and still shows the gripen on the flying list. The new team have definitely not got their finger on their own pulse.
We don't all rely on twitter, Instagram or whatever. The official website should be the go to place for up to date info. 3 updates in 24 days when this close to the show, one of which was to announce a cancellation,
just lacks connectivity. Yes, I know they have a big job on their hands and will be working tirelessly behind the scenes, but whoever has been landed with the onurous task of informing the general public has spread themselves thin. My first port of call is always the official website. If you've got time to tap out a message on Facebook, twitter or Instagram, why not the official site?

Glad to see both Rich and Ruch are going to be there, makes up for the Gripen in my books.
