My Fly Navy

Post by Slinger65 »

Despite the slightly dodgy (but very accurate) forecast, am glad I made the last minute decision to break my post-covid OW duck. The light and conditions were challenging for the limited capabilities of both photographer and equipment at times. I tried using an ND filter for the first time to give rotor blur for the choppers and movement / prop blur for takeoffs & landings - with mixed results, especially with colour balance on some shots. Happy for any constructive comments / suggestions...

Well that's worked really well! Nice and sharp and that real sense of movement with the slow shutter speed

These are great, well done! The first shot of the Anson is my personal favourite .

In both sets your photo's are fine. Your assessment of the 'best light of the day' for the Gazelle is dubious. One must assume you weren't there when they arrived in clear blue & then left early to avoid their departure in luvverly sunshine? :astonished:

Indeed - I missed both their arrival and departure, now wishing I'd hung around a little longer, especially having just seen a lovely photo of departing G-ZIRAStummelflitzer over on FB...
