The Historic Helicopters Thread
Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
They seem to have gone radio silent since the cancellation of the open day.
Chard Equestrian have been posting frequently though, so hopefully all is okay.

At last, some helicopter related news again from Chard - RS02 has started flying again, RS04 has been running its engines.

ZF122 breathes a new life again! This is HH’s second junglie Sea King (the first being ZA314).

Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
That's great news, I'd been wondering how this one was doing.
I do hope they've not forgotten this post from April 2021.
[Link not working, but they said then that this one would go into Arctic camo scheme].
(And while they're at it, XZ597 back in its Grey Falklands scheme too, please! )

Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
Great news that ZF122 is coming back to life, but both HH's Junglie cabs and one of its Mk.3s (XZ588 I think?) are available for sale currently, or at least were, alongside the Lynx AH.7.
Unless that has changed, I think any refinish into Arctic camo is on hold (hope not!).

Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
It would be good to see the Sea Kings display more frequently (I remember a post in the Abingdon thread last year said that the Belgian Sea King was too expensive to justify) - the Yellow ones have performed a few displays, but neither Belgian Sea King has performed a display in preservation yet, have they? And the HC4 has put in two displays at Shuttleworth - is that it for the Junglie so far?

Image 5 within the advert for the (unrelated) A109 made me chuckle.... put the plate in the dish washer FFS.

Apart from the annual Junglie Cocktail parties, that's it.Professor_M wrote: ↑Sun 30 Apr 2023, 8:13 pmIt would be good to see the Sea Kings display more frequently (I remember a post in the Abingdon thread last year said that the Belgian Sea King was too expensive to justify) - the Yellow ones have performed a few displays, but neither Belgian Sea King has performed a display in preservation yet, have they? Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
Thats a shame to be seeing them sold.
IF they all sell what will be left in the fleet?

Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
I'd been think about Historic Helicopters this evening - they haven't flown at a UK show at all this year, have they?Professor_M wrote: ↑Sun 30 Apr 2023, 8:00 pmListings here...centaurus18 wrote: ↑Sun 30 Apr 2023, 7:07 pmGreat news that ZF122 is coming back to life, but both HH's Junglie cabs and one of its Mk.3s (XZ588 I think?) are available for sale currently, or at least were, alongside the Lynx AH.7.

Looking back through this thread, since the quoted post, the other Yellow Sea King has also been listed on airandground.com (https://www.airandground.com/category/mfg/westland/).
I do hope we see Historic Helicopters flying again at a show on these shores sooner rather than later (I don't know if RS-02's trip to Belgium included a flying display or not).

Re: The Historic Helicopters Thread
I'm fairly sure the ex' Belgian Sea King was also originally intended to be at Kee Bee this coming weekend, but understandably showing as a no-go!
The current issues with the HH Organisation is not a quantifiable situation at present. A revised method of operation is required to overcome the current hiatus & will certainly require substantial financing, hence the sale of assets ( Toys?) to pay for the new set-up. Good Luck to all involved & when the appropriate time arrives, all will become clear.

From this video, G-SEAK/XZ588 has remained in its Marine One scheme, just in case any more film work should come along for it...
