Let’s hope they are genuine bidders with the means to move it.
Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?
Bidding has ended at £21,000, I hope it's going to a good home!
Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?
Speaking with the owner of the site yesterday, he was very hopeful and reckoned to have a couple of bidders with the money, the means and the Cunning Plans to rehome her.

PPrune suggesting the winning bidder is a guy with a serious engineering background and an aviation interest.

NOT Elvington.
And if you think the waxworks look bad in the pictures, you should see them in reality!

Condor Aviation, they have a small maintenance facility on the edge of what was once RAF Riccall in North Yorkshire. One of their previous projects was featured on George Clark's Amazing Spaces, or one of his offshoot progs, a few years ago (sound of mind whirring...!). I read online that they were talking about the RAF airlifting the Bev to its new home - presumably in bits beneath a Chinook as I doubt the grass strip would take anything like a C-17 or Herc!

Sounds like a realistic plan and a sensible use.
It’s not a viable museum piece; having to earn its keep might ensure it stays a complete airframe.

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?
So we pay via a crowdfunding excercise to move and re assemble the aircraft, so that someone can make money by renting it as an air BnB?
Apart from 'saving' (and i use that word carefully) the aircraft on a field with presumably limited access, what do the crowdfunders get?
It aint exactly Tom Moore is it?

Re: Blackburn Beverley anyone?
In addition he has been trying to get free volunteer labour from the museum sector to help in the dismantling/reassembly process, and indeed approached the RAF with the attitude he was doing them a favour offering them a training opportunity for the Chinook force.
