So no LHR and world leaders travelling on commercial flights, I don't think so.

What is this? A new Liz Truss competition to see how many friends and allies she can alienate in her first week on the job?

Rumours are that all VIP,S using government aircraft will land at Brize and be transported by buses.VIPS using commercial flights will land at Stansted and I would assume a similar arrangement. Please do not shoot the messenger.

Is that based on this post from Fighter Control?

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

All aircraft with VIPs to land at RAF Brize Norton (which is secure) and discharge the passengers for welcoming committee.

Land transport in secure convoys to embassies and or hotels.

Empty aircraft to be dispersed to secure military airfields until required.

VIPs travelling on commercial flights to go to Stansted and land convoy as above.

😉 now, as to the detailed planning…
If so, it's bollix and should be treated as such.

Can you elaborate further - What actually is the plan?

The post was made by the same person who is currently trying to convince everyone that the Red Arrows aren't in turmoil and everything is fine. A pinch of salt is probably the bare minimum required.

Presumably exactly the same as it has been for every other major event in London over the last however many years? Brize can't handle the number of aircraft required, and which other military bases are a) going to be open on a weekend, and b) able to handle large commercial aircraft with requirements for air-stairs, etc.?

As there's a reception hosted by the King on Sunday evening it's unlikely that anyone will be arriving first thing Monday morning, so there's plenty of time to arrive, to hotel/embassy and then travel from there to the funeral on Monday.

Common sense would dictate a mix of Stansted, Luton, Gatwick, Farnborough and Biggin Hill at the very least, with most aircraft going to the same airports they usually go to.

That's what I'm hoping will happen - especially something interesting into Gatwick - it happens all to rarely.

Ultimately, the most important thing is that the whole event comes together well and is a fitting tribute for the late monarch.

I highly doubt that such info will be in the public domain at this point.

Personally, I also doubt that they would be ‘bussing’ visiting heads of state from Brize into central London.

Are "normal" passengers on commercial flights to Heathrow, Gatwick etc going to be inconvenienced by dropping into Stanstead to drop off the VIP's?

Fairford? Still way too far from London for VIPS going to the funeral.

I wouldn't rule out Northolt as it has some experience in handling VIPS. If Biden comes, Mildenhall might be an option for some US aircraft?

C III might wish to have a diamond 9 over the Palace after his visit to Westminster Abbey. He will have some say in the matter. ;)
The Reds will get back to form

May I suggest that my post(s) are read in context with attention paid to the last line? As copied above.

Has there been any mention of a flypast over Westminster Abbey on Monday? I would hazard a guess that the BBMF would be part of any arrangements.

I see we have USAF C17 and VH3 in Northolt, ready for Biden and a Brazilian AF E190 coming to Farnborough which may or may not have anything to do with the occasion

Being reported on Fighter Control that they're due in to Stansted.
