Leuchars Arrivals and Practices.

Post by Stonefaction »

Well, I didn't actually go to the show this year. £30 to get in with the strong threat of heavy rain and only really the Viggen that I wanted to see kept me away. I did spend all day Thursday at the beach end, and Friday in the field, so here's a small selection from those.

Image
1. Lancaster arrives.

Image
2. Sea King shows up.

Image
3. Dutch KDC-10

Image
4. Cobham Falcon 20.

Image
5. Austrian Typhoons (who spooked an Osprey and a White Tailed Eagle during their practice - a nice wee avian bonus for me).

Image
6. Sea Fury fast and low.

Image
7. VC-10 on finals.

Image
8. RAF Typhoon with strobe and vapour.

Image
9. Austrian Typhoon turn.

and this wee migrating Wheatear (and pals) helped to pass a rather long drawn out Thursday by posing for photos.

Enjoy

Some nice shots, especially Typhoon shots 5, 8 and 9, 6 the glorious Sea fury and of course the wee wheatear, something completely different!

Thanks, folks. I've still to finish editing the photos I did get, so there may yet be more to add in here.

Always something to look forward to, cheers Barry. Sea Fury and Typhoons really capture their power but I like the Lancaster, am a sucker for an evocative shot like that!
