Screechy at Old Warden July 2015

Post by Screechy »

Old Warden was well worth the sell out crowd despite the late wind that curtailed the show a little early. Didn't bump into the usual suspects this time as they were either on probation with their wives or elsewhere as I took a sitting brief for once at this location rather than roving around. Happy with the results, best photographic day of the year so far. I'm sure these will be covered far better by others but here's my stab at the Shuttleworth Military air Pageant 2015..

1. Didn't expect this fella
Image
2. The big Bristols arrive..
Image
3. and the Pitts departs in sporty fashion
Image
4. The Hind goes up for a practice
Image
5. If anything it was a little too close at times.. could have done with a couple more passes but fair play, it was good
Image
6. Peter Teichman arrives in style
Image
7. and puts down
Image
8. BBMF Spit.. short but sweet
Image
9. The Gladiator throbs past with another topside
Image
10. Up go the Aerostars
Image
11. Sea Hurricane, gorgeous as ever, takes off
Image
12. A very welcome return to the Seafire as it takes to the skies
Image
13. Sea Hurricane + Sunshine, always a good combo
Image
14. Seafire looking like a painting!
Image
15. Good to see the Blenhiem in some sunshine
Image
16. Mr Romain knows how to display the Blenheim
Image
17. The greenhouse
Image
18. Nice way to close the show

Cheers for looking and see you at Legends

Great set, yes good job on the poppy drop, with the wind direction I didn't expect him to drop them that early.

Very good set. Must have been very close to me looking at that pic of the Scout arriving.

Cheers, well if you look like your Avatar then I certainly didn't see you standing near me :) Would be interesting to put faces to many of the names on these forums... i'd expect I would recognize many of them... 'oh blimey.. so that's ..xxxx' etc etc

Many years ago a UKAR meet was organised for RIAT so we had the opportunity to put names and faces together - my daughter took a photo which I posted and someone kindly annotated the names to it. I rather doubt that there's many of that group left on the board now, but if anyone's interested in trying to arrange it again, do say so.

Andy

PS Great set by the way

We should just start a thread somewhere where you post your photo, your real name and your UKAR alias.. would be quite an eye opener!

Very nice, well done!

PS. I have met and chatted with several UKAR posters at airshows, because I am easily spotted - not because my face is known... rather, because I'm the one with a "toy" camera, holding it all wrong, and a red dot sight stuck on top of it LOL :-D
