The other Airshow this weekend - Old Warden BoB 2015

Post by Tbolt »

That's Best of British ;)

Nearly didn't go to this show as the winds were forecast to be high, but in the morning the forecast showed the winds calming down in the evening and I'm glad I when because that's exactly what happened and everything that was scheduled to fly got up and we got a little bit of golden hour light :) It was a bit dark when the Snipe displayed (flying didn't finish till 21:30) and photo 41 is at ISO 5080! I need a 400mm f2.8 lens and a D810 :)

I wish I'd made that last minute decision to go now. Excellent shots Darrell, the weather has really been kind to OW of late.

Lovely set. I was sat at work just down the road looking at the light just get better and better and you made real good use of it.

Tremendous set - how good was that Spitfire display? So graceful.

I'd given taking photos up by the time the Snipe flew - not skilled enough to shoot in those conditions, it was more or less dark. Show could have done with starting an hour earlier IMO.

Yes there was very little light, I removed my 1.7x TC and fitted my 1.4x one to give my a little more, but you can see how soft the detail is on my Snipe shots, I should have drop the SS a bit more really but forgot to do so. The show was a little late finishing, I thought the evening shows I had been to here before started more like 17:00?

Wonderful.
You can almost feel the textures on that Sea Hurricane (shot 16)
...... and mucky too! I love aeroplanes that look as if they've been at work!
