The Cosby Show (updated)

Post by Ian G »

Peter345 and I took another trip to Cosby for the annual Victory Show. I had bought advanced tickets but where they went to I will never know until the day I die. So after technically paying twice to get in, we had a brilliant day in glorious weather. The Vulcan effect was in full force, many facebook posts were slating the organisers for not letting the public know that the Vulcan had cancelled and indeed many people we overheard whilst scoffing a breakfast bap did not know the Vulcan would no longer be there. Still, that didn't disappoint us as the spectacle of seeing these old machines up and close as well as one of the best small air displays of the year was well worth (twice) the entrance fee alone. Here's a few for now, I will update accordingly when Flickr gets its act together!

Ok, I know there's no plane in this one, but having your finger on the trigger pays off sometimes!

Thanks for the comments. It was a very welcome change after two years of dismal grey skies there!

Great stuff Ian, I was further to the left and never quite got that angle of bank on Sally B from there, tremendous stuff and what a great venue and for the bargain of the year price when you add all the tanks and vehicles in.

Hmmmm, maybe should have gone to this after all. Looks fantastic, but the Vulcan cancellation put me off as it's a fair old trek.

Thanks! We were near the VIP entrance, it was a bit disappointing that they split the display area in to two this year as we were packed in like cattle - however we took advantage when they opened the rope to let a tank through so we all scuttled to the front. There were several people however who wanted to get a front row view anyway and they ducked under the rope and sat IN FRONT of the plastic fence, complete with a little boy running around throwing straw everywhere! Even the stewards/flight safety team didn't bat an eyelid! :wall:
Heard several people moaning about the queues to get in, we didn't have any problem but again, with the Vulcan effect, it pays to arrive early. Definitely enough to go around and look at before the battle and flying display commences.

Very nice Ian, it was indeed a brill day. I'm already looking forward to next year when hopefully there won't be quite so many people there!
Oh and I still couldn't see Bill...
