Bell Fort Worth Alliance Airshow, Texas 19-10-2019

Post by SEMAE »

Hi

This was the first of four airshows I went to in the United States and all in Texas during October 2019. This was one was held at Fort Worth Alliance aifield aboutt a 40 minute drive from my hotel

It was sunny, very warm but not humid.

Equipment used was an 80D and 100-400 mm Canon lens for most of the flying display with a few wider angle shots was taken with a 5D Mk IV with 24-105 mm lens.

Whilst I would have preferred to take static shots with my 5D Mk IV and 24-105 lens, I rapidly found it was easier to us the 80D and EFS 10-18 lens using at a closer distance to reduce the number of people likley to walk between the aircraft and the camera.

I also had a1.4 converter for the flying but I never had any compelling need to us it at any of the shows. I left my 500 mm lens back in the UK.

Great photos, awesome aircraft and that deep blue sky...superb! Some rare stuff in that set like the Bell V-280 and that crazy twin Yak...
Did the Blue Angels Display with one jet missing?

@Chris: shot 5 and 7 look like SIAI-Marchetti S.211, but I‘m not 100% sure

It's a dry heat in Texas in my experience.

Shot no. 7 (023 on nose) NX250CF is a SIAI-Marchetti S.211. It was also at Oshkosh this year.

Another nice set with quite a few specific warbird attendees that I have yet to see - the Douglas (?) bomber, the P-51, T-33 and the Tracker Perhaps at the 2020 Airventure...
Cheers,

Very cool to see the Valor in the show! Also made me smile to see Harvard NZ1079 in the mix.

Great photos!
