FB post so it might not display properly, but SWAM has acquired Canberra WK126

God knows where they’re going to fit all this stuff!

Nice addition to the cockpit section they've already got ( WK128 ) and hopefully they'll keep it in the FRADU colours.
Must admit, SWAM seem to be getting a lot of odds-and-sods recently - hang-gliders, hot air balloons, home-builds & a couple of Russian-built gliders.

BBC News - Rowers rescued after boat capsized and sank in ocean

The RAF have used the P-8 for search and rescue for the first time, according to the BBC.

Interesting that the SAR is listed as "800 NM off Lands End" given that last seen on the various tracking programmes the aircraft ( callsign RESCUE 57 ) was heading directly Westbound from the North of Scotland.

Very cool.

I saw one of the OSINT/tracker accounts (I forget which, probably the good guys at SkyScanWorld) mention that an RAF P-8 was squawking a SAR code, but didn’t think much of it, but this must’ve been what it was.

Given the tech that must be on board I wonder how far it could be from the SAR to still be able to assist. Also, once it became a 'live' operation, would the aircraft remain on public access scanners anyway? (That's a genuine question, I don't know if military aircraft would show up if on a 'real' (as opposed to training) operation?)

RAF C-130 service life extended by three months to June 2023.

Crazy that they’re still clinging to the Integrate Review paper, even with increased commitment to defence spending and the war in Ukraine.

Saw this heading over towards newark air museum from work but didn't have a clue what it was, nice/weird looking aircraft. Didn't see anything about this due to fly in to the museum or i would have gone to get pictures of it landing, although im sure it would have been a no no for the museum to let the public know about it flying in beforehand anyway?

Another perfectly airworthy vintage aircraft that will no longer be seen flying again...how sad! I'm all for having aircraft in museums that are no longer capable of flying, but surely not a unique airworthy aircraft?

At least it won't end up like this unique a/c did.

Limited notification for the museum itself - cancelled twice earlier in the week; even I missed it. This was slightly disappointing, especially as I have been personally involved in its possible acquisition, on and off since 1994.
