Central America 2019

Central America 2019

Postby 4Aviation on Mon 12 Aug 2019, 1:20 pm

In February we were able to visit three countries in Central America: El Salvador, Honduras and Panama. Here are some pictures we took during our trip.

El Salvador
First country visited was El Salvador where we had visits at both Air Forces bases: Comalapa (A-37 & O-2) and Ilopango (Transport, helicopters and training). Flying hours are low, so we where very lucky to get some A-37 action at Comalapa!

Honduras
Our visits here where cancelled at the last minute, but we tried to work our way around this. Undisputed highlights were the two flying F-5s!

Panama
In Panama we had a tour of the airport, and were able to get some of the 'military' aircraft as well.

These are indeed Super Mystères, the Honduran Air Force used to fly quite a number of them. The ones in the pictures are stored at La Ceiba airport.

Thanks for posting these, nice to see air arms from further afield. Very interesting locations and types. I'd be happy to see more. Much appreciated!

They have been flying the AW139 since 2013 as far as I know. Latest two (including this AN-145) joined the fleet in 2018.
